Thank you for the reply, yes it is an older 15 inch monitor and yes you are right perhaps it can not refresh.
How can I fix the problem when I can not see the screen on the monitor?

Monitor problems and BIOS
Hi I changed the monitor setting from 16 Bit to 256 colours and now when I reboot the computer the monitor will boot up, windows 98 starts and then stops and goes to a black screen after doing a scan disc. I can not change back to 16 bit colour screen resolution. What has happened to my BIOS or CMOS...
