I every one, i have one Laptop Asus A7Cc. It comes with 2Gb of ram, and it have the Intel i945PM chipset that suports 4Gb of total ram.

Last weak i bought 2x2Gb DDR2 667 kingstone to upgrade my laptop. The problem is that the windows vista x64 on the computer propreties show me 4,00Gb of total ram. But on the but bios i can only see 2,4Gb of ram.

My graphics card is an ATI Mobility x1450 with 128Mb dedicated and can go catch some of the system ram.

When Asus launch the A7Cc to the market, ther was no 2Gb modules yet. So in the specs of that laptop we can read that its only upgraded up to 2GB of total ram.

I have a friend with an Asus A8 series, with the same story of the specs (up to a maximum of 2GB), with the same intel chipset and the computer acepts the 4GB.....

I have the lastes Bios instaled... Do i need to make some modd to my BIOS? Can i change something?

The software Everest Ultimate Edition read that i have 2x2GB.....
If the bios cant realy see the 4GB (but only the 2,4GB) i supose that the windows cant to...

Big hugs, sorry for my bad english.

buy an A8. There's no other solution. For whatever reason Asus decided to leave the max memory limit in this model at 2,4GB. Most of the time it's commercial, sometimes it's a hardware limit. Even though the chipset supports 4GB, this doesn't mean the implementation of it in this laptop does also.
