Any ideas? I tried the AMIBOOT.ROM on a floppy disk and that didn't work. I tried to updated the bios on the clone laptop and it didn't work. Thanks!!

What type of EEPROM is it? Socketed or soldered? Is this a Compaq laptop?

It's one of those generic laptops sold under a dozen different brand names.

This MIGHT be one of them:

Joe, soupy has it correct. It's a generic laptop that has just the word "Notebook" on the cover. I've looked into several places that will re flash or replace the bios chip.
