I just got an old CTX EzBook 700 / or 700+ - a sticker on the back says X953NS. I found what I thought was the correct bios update, but when I installed it, the utility didn't prompt me to make a backup of the old bios, and it didn't verify the checksum - it just FLASHED. Needless to say, it was the wrong bios. Now I have no display, etc. I could hotflash the CTX bios chip (Phoenix) in another system with the same bios socket if I only had the bios file(s) to flash it back with.
If anyone still has a copy of the bios .rom or .bin, could you please attach it to an email and send it to me? If anyone still has a working model of this laptop could you please let me know? I can send you a link to a site which has a bios backup utility if you desire.
Sincerely,
Chris England
