i get lots of laptops for repairs and the most problematic are dells
like this one mother board had bios problems well the rtc battery was left out for some time and the it never showed up any screen
another came with rtc battery removed bu someone else and that board does switch on and off but does not boot the signnal inn the scope hangs
it does nto complete the bios boot
put this bios in a eeprom programmer and it is not detectable the chip might be bad
so i try another compatible chip and programm it
but it still doesnt work
as i see dell bios has two important files
one is platform.bin
and the other is the rom file
well is there any importance of platform.bin file when i wam using an external programmer
secondlly that is the effect of serial eeprom with the bios corroupt
may be the serial eepromm is corrupted
or i need to put a blank serial eeprom with a new flash chip
looksing for some help

It`s standart for Phoenix bioses.one is platform.bin
and the other is the rom file
If "bios.rom" file is 128/256/512kB - is BIOS image.
"platform.bin" - has mobo/flashchip specific routines used by phoenix-flasher for update BIOS.
