Hi

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook 735Dx laptop with a Phoenix Bios 4.0, release 5.1 (Lifebook 735 Dx bios ver 1.03). I tried to upgrade my HDD to a 10.2 Gb Fujitsu MHG2102AT, but when I install it, the bios autodetects it as a 8.4Gb HDD, the system hangs and refuses to boot.
I checked the Fujitsu support site, but it doesn't list any available BIOS for the Lifebook 7xx series.

It is very disappointing that Fujitsu and Fujitsu-Siemens do not offer BIOS upgrades. The BIOS you have is the only 735Dx BIOS I can find listed anywhere. I have an E6540 and I can't get a BIOS upgrade for that either.

The drive jumpers only allow setting Master/Slave/CS, no option to limit to 8.4GB.

We don't know how to patch the Phoenix BIOS for larger disks than 8.4 GB.

Can you manually set the drive parameters in the CMOS to say that the drive is only 8.4GB? This may at least stop it hanging on boot.
Tested patched BIOSes. Untested patched BIOSes.
