Could anyone tell me... Is it possible to use a USB CD-ROM in DOS??? When I tried to boot from a bootdisk (Window 98), I enable the booting with CD-ROM support however when it tried to load the driver from the CD-ROM... it stated no CD-ROM found..... I believed tat the CD-ROM supporting driver is for Normal Desktop computer...

So does anyone know is it possible to enable my USB CD-ROM in DOS???
I need the CD-ROM to install OS into my Compaq Presario 800 Notebook

So I can't enable my USB CD-ROM in DOS... So does anyone know of any method to install a New OS to a New HD of a notebook? Without a OS inside my HD is similar to a useless Notebook now....

Could anyone kindly guide me along???

Or parallel port - some external drive or a cable and transfer files from other PC in DOS (using e.g. Norton Commander).

Take yur 2.5" new drive and get an 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor (found on the net)and install the laptop 2.5" to a desktop PC. From there, copy the OS disk to the 2.5" laptop drive after you partition and format the drive.

Re-install the 2.5" drive back into the laptop and start the setup.

and you're done.
