I have doawnloaded all of the tools, but i dont understand what to fill when i see that there's no that much letters when my wireless id's is converted to hex, as in original there's a longer code and i don't know what i need to fill there(I know that there must be valid checksum, but nothing more).

I have assisted several friends that wanted to create HP Hackintosh sucessfully with no issues. The guides and post here have always pointed me in the right direction. I can not for the life of me get the final checksum fixed. It does patch something, but the revised additive checksum changes to another RED hex instead of a GREEN original.

Hello !
I just acquired a HP Elitebook 2540p.
I want to use my Dell Wireless 5530 HSPA inside it and I'm blocked by the whitelist.
I've tried ADCC, it crashes on me each and every single time I try to decompress the bios http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsup ... ob-87182-1

My card is recognized in my old laptop as USB\VID_413C&PID_8147. Which is strange...provided it is a minipcie card...

I'd be willing to pay if somebody was able to remove the whitelist altogether (it seems possible with this method : http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-G ... nsyde-BIOS )
or patch my bios for my 5530.

TIA,

Patching bios to bypass wifi and wwan checks altogether

FYI: TTAV134@mydigitallife has figured out how to bypass the whitelist checks altogether on bios that can be decrypted by ADDCCV3. Details here.

thats normal. If you checked "search in ... decompressed whitelist" its only
for the detection of the whitelist to watch and know there. If you take 12 Bytes from
the decompressed whitelist for changing it in your compressed bios file, it would
make no sense. Cause you cant find and change them in the compressed file.
Therefore I have removed this feature for this situation.

Take the first entrie from the decompressed whitelist, insert into BIOS notation
and check "search in ... compressed Whitelist". You have to found an ID which is
not compressed to change all your new eight bytes.

But why you searching for the decompressed whitelist with an ID? The ADDCC v3 found exactly
the position. In 68MSP_FOE_2510P.BIN the whitelist end is at 0x2632

Cheers Semi

Dear semi:

As an HP HDX Dragon 2 forum member, I'm hoping you might consider producing code that can compress just one module...the vbios...so that we can insert the vbios for the Nvidia 280M GTX into the bios of the HDX Dragon. It might go a long way in helping some of our members mod the beast with respect to GPU, which would be exciting!

Our next step would be for another forum member to find a way to graft the compressed module into the HDX's bios. With these steps handled by different forum members no one would feel burdened by the project, and the responsibility for the mod would rest on the shoulders of the modder.

Thanks,

Dominick

Don't let this drag on, call them and tell them that you have waited long enough and that they have until the end of the day to give you a definite date that you will get your laptop back or failing that you want a replacement.
Good luck and best wishes

Guys,

Please help - I bricked my laptop  . Arranging service guy to reflash my BIOS eeprom. Win+B with USB floppy did not help (maybe I've waited not long enough - recovery is not working any more so I presume keyboard is not operational).

However I'm still keen on using new WIFI in my nc8430.

Existing card: 86 80 22 42 3C 10 5B 13
Bios base F.16: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Te ... ob-63514-1
Search string in compressed bios: 86802242AF3C105B (AF is the processing instruction)
Original BIOS ID: 18C386802242AF3C105B1383 (Intel 3945abg)
Own BIOS ID: 18C386802942AF8680011183 (Intel 4965agn)
Checksum diff: -77 5A 02 -4A
Bytes string: N—tL —tL (from F12=Netw—ork) - 4E657477976F726B
After fixin checksum: F12=N—tL —tL
Even tough I see final Cheksum is correct, I've compared decompressed files and it seems after modified bytes string everything has changed - is it normal? Whitelist looks ok.

Can you please verify the procedure and give me hints on how to make it work - I would rather avoid soldiering EEPROM twice

Thanks,
Marek

An unwhitelisted bios for the nc8430 already exists. See here.

I'm new here, so I can't send any PM's. Anyway. I have a HP Probook 4525s, which has an EFI-Bios that is not 100% compatible with ADDCC. The program crashes for example when I try to decompress it. The BIOS image is 2 MB, it might be the reason.

I would like to whitelist my Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 (which I'm using right now, by hot-swapping, and, it's working beautifully!).

This is the Info:

The card I want in the whitelist: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_422C&SUBSYS_13018086&REV_35
My BIOS: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Te ... ob-91937-1

The ones that are whitelisted right now are:

E4 14 15 43 3C 10 07 15
E4 14 15 43 3C 10 08 15
E4 14 2B 43 3C 10 09 15
E4 14 2B 43 3C 10 10 15
E4 14 53 43 3C 10 09 15
E4 14 53 43 3C 10 10 15
E4 14 27 47 3C 10 5C 14
E4 14 27 47 3C 10 83 14
14 18 90 30 3C 10 53 14
8C 16 2B 00 3C 10 3F 30
8C 16 2B 00 3C 10 40 30
8C 16 2A 00 3C 10 41 30
8C 16 2A 00 3C 10 42 30
EC 10 71 81 3C 10 67 14

all are copied from the uncompressed bios, in the DUMP folder when opened in Phoenix tools. The file containing the whitelist is: 5EE86B35-0839-4A21-8845-F1ACB0F688AB_3_155.ROM

If anyone can help me, I'm willing to give compensation through PayPal. Thanks!

If it works in the same way as my HP Probook 4525s, which has a 68CPK family ROM. Refer to my post here: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/thread ... res/page80 as on how to recover the BIOS.

the reason for using the DOS bootdisk is that the HP rompaq.exe doesn't CRC-check the 68BDD.bin image. Almost everything in this tutorial can be done from windows, however, all of the HP windows flashing utils will reject the modified image due to a signature error
Is this the new info? Picture has washed out of the post
