I have an IBM Thinkpad 600 with the latest BIOS. Now, the manual says the maximum amount of memory is 288 MB, two 128 MB DIMMs with 32 MB installed on the mb. I have a 256 MB DIMM, seems to install fine, the memory counter shows the correct amount, but the machine will not get past the BIOS screen. Is there an unofficial upgrade I can perform that will tell the BIOS to shutup and enjoy the memory?

Thanks,
Ryan

Not sure if TP600 works with any 256M SODIMMs.

TP600e does work with some 256M types.
Viking 286172 PC100 256MB
Crucial 256 (Type 2662 from X20 matrix)
SimpleTech with Toshiba chips
Kingston KTM-TP390X/256
Crucial CT184910
Viking I0258
