Dr Morg,

Do you still have Thinkpad configuration utility installed in XP? Check if it shows USB and IRDA enabled.

test it.

it is easy to use.

Powerleap autoloads by using a setting on one of the tabs.

It occasionally fails to load giving a strange error "failed to load ring component" of something similar (I'll get the exact error next time it occurs)

The cache utility Holgi128 is referring to made my pad BSOD last time I tried it.

beatoem, if you are still having issues loading powerleap at boot try adding this to your registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

create a string value called powerleap the add the full path to the exe as the data.

Those codes indicate an error on the USB and Serial devices and the FRU code suggests replacing the Systemboard.

Beatoem,

Yeaterday I installed 750MHz processor back and I am running it at 810MHz now. It is stabile on normal use but under heavy load testprogrammes it generates errors after a few minutes of full load due to overheating.

I am running it now standard Vcore = 1.60V. I'll try to lower Vcore if it helps.

I am using Powerleap CPU control panel and I select from Options leaf "automatically start at startup". I have detected best NOT to select MTRR related boxes from Advanced settings leaf.

My 700MHz processor is better, because it is stabile at 829MHz.

IrDa looks like work, but it's not work! :(

USB sometims work, but it turnes off when Windows start.

I'm try to bootup with USB Flash drive and it work for about 30-60 seconds after Windows start. After that it turns off again.
I'm try again, but it have no effect.

So, I don't understand work it or not.

What about IrDa,- I'm try to connect my SonyEricsson T610 via IrDa, but it found no devices around it.

What can you tell me about it?

Big thanks!

My t610 is difficult to connect via Idra at the best of times. Try keeping the phone about 20cm from the laptop.

The fact that the usb issue is intermitent makes me think its a hardware problem. I'd maybe check the contacts in the USB port are all sound etc.

The errors in the system utility are a little concerning though. NOt sure how best to proceed. I'd be tempted to check all the settings of the laptop using the ps2.exe config utility (you can get it from IBM somewhere)

Put it on a floppy boot disk and you can check the power saving modes, irq and dma assignments etc of all the devices on the laptop.

I've already read it, but it doesn't give me some needful information, helps to fix it.

I think, that the problem not only in hardware.

Where can I see actually work of all ports in TP?
