Hi all of you,

I'm new in this forum and I' like to post a request to the BIOS experts.

I have an old laptop ASUS G1 on which I would like to change the HDD with an SDD one. The laptop is powered with an Intel 945M - ICH7M chipset which should support the AHCI mode. Unfortunately this option is not present in the BIOS menu so I don't know how to activate it.

Does anyone had the same problem whit this PC and do exist a modding bios enabling the feature? Or can anyone help me in this?

I've exported the BIOS in a hex file but I don't know how to manage with it.

Hoping in your help I thank you in advance.

Regards.

Which BIOS version are you currently running?

http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/18 ... t-ncq.html suggests it supports AHCI.

version 300 is the latest

in 205 and 300 they added some compatibilty SATA setting for Windows XP, maybe they have added AHCI too.

Hi,

currently I have G1AS.209 cause I have a G1 version and not a G1S. I didn't try to load the BIOS of the G1S on mine. Do you think it is compatible? The main difference I see is that G1 has ICH7M while G1S the ICH8M http://www.notebookreview.com/default.a ... w=Asus+G1S . But maybe we can start comparing the two bios rom to find out how to enable AHCI on mine.

Thanks,

Mauro
