Hi,

I hve this notebook with the lcd screen broken!!
it`s an Oliboock 500 series (kind of a generic/barebone renamed as Olivetti)

could find this info
BIOS Type: Phoenix
BIOS Date: February 15th 2008
BIOS ID: Ver 1.00PARTTBLR-None
BIOS OEM: 1.11
Chipset: SiS 671 rev 0
SuperIO: Unknown
Manufacturer: OEM
Motherboard: U40SI

As the screen is broken Idon`t care about loosing it, but I whant to connect the vga output to a LCD TV
Its native resolution is 1920x1080 60Hz I know hardware won`t give me that but 1280x768 will do the job or any 16:9 matrix.

about the monitor .ini file.. I don`t have any (it`s a TV!!) so is there any .ini that I can use or modify to use?

ESC download page is empty (today at least)
so here is the BIOS from the actual vendor (u40.rar 529Kb)

http://72.29.68.168/~elmetalc/sicsa/des ... &Itemid=60

Thanks

What exact model is it? 510/520/530... This is a customized Phoenix bios which is quite difficult to modify if at all possible. Olivetti in the past did have the habit of completely locking their bioses...

I didn't know Uniwill was taken over by ECS but indeed, there's no bios for download. I'll have a look but still, no promises...

I will see if I can make the HASEE bios links work somehow as right now it seems to be blocked by the proxy-server here.

Ok, here's the story. The version 1.14 bios file inside that file from your supplier has a SiS 6330 version 3.72.02 video bios inside it that is supporting 1440x900 resolution. Most likely that is already on your system. You need to install the proper driver set available on our download page in Windows. Make sure to completely uninstall the previous drivers.

what brand/model is your tv? Maybe it's possible to make a generic monitor.inf file to force the 1440x900 resolution.

Yes, I think it is detected being a generic TV. What you should do is UNcheck "hide modes this monitor cannot display", and then set it for 1440x900. If you did install the univga drivers from the download page at wimsbios.com this should work.

humm, it´s not working
I´ve reinstaled the system, formated the disk and made a new windows 7 setup.
installed last dirvers from SiS download page (this is where wimsbios download page poit to)

Tv is (not) recognized as generic no pnp monitor (translation may not be the same)
I did change it to varios LCD panel with 16:9 layouts and to generic tv with alwais the same result (1024x768)
Hide modes this monitor... is grayed out
the SiS menu in CRT lists res from 640x480 to 1024x768, the only wide screen bein 960x600 that is not supported by the lcdtv

Properties windows sais
sis 672
mirage 3+
Bios inf 3.72.02

Driver date 15/12/2010
Driver version 7.14.10.5290
