Hello,
I have a HP that got a virus. A friend told me that the virus hacked my bios chip. He then removed it and broke several pins off. I would like to order a new chip from badflash.com but they require several things. They want to know the board maker and model number, and who provides the bios. (example: Award, AMI, Phoenix) They also want a binary bios image file that I can't find. I tried hp and they told me I would have to order a new MB.

All help appreciated,
Ken

Bios chip soldering to a laptop is very difficult and very few can do it.

If the laptop is relatively new (less than 3 years) go buy a new motherboard from the manufacturer.

If is older, try bying a motherboard from eBay or sell the laptop as parts.
