Have upgraded the bios and installed Win2000 - cannot enable the com port or disable the IR port (they seem to share the same resources) in windows - Told it must be done in the bios.
Went to Easy Setup, but there is no "Easy" way. Ctl D gets me into the System Configuration Edit Utility (which apparently is where I need to be) by it is all Hex - can anyone give me help on this.
The entire goal of upgrading the bios (with a dead battery - thanks to the help here) etc was to activate the com port!!

Hi blackacre: You could use the Thinkpad Configuration Utility. OR Perhaps you could run a session of PCDRDOS. Then i believe you can change some IRQs with PS2.EXE
