Hi,
I am running Linux on my TP 600E; have not been able to load any windows versionso far because of some problem in the bios (have tried 98, 2000 and XP pro) . I am trying to upgrade to the last bios update and have downloaded the following file from the IBM support page: "spsdin36.exe". I have read the readme but it only refers to a System Program Service Diskette (SPSD) , not the .exe file. (Which I can't execute from Linux.) What happens when the .exe file is run? Does it run a wizard for creating a SPSD? I only have a CD drive on this TP so how can I create an equivalent boot CD instead of boot floppy?
Also, in Easy-Setup the test of the motherboard gives the following error message:
DEV 001
ERR 91
FRU 3610
Anyone know what this is?
Thanks very much . . .
Mike

Flash your BIOS at your own risk.
Hilarious.
