im a newbie on the forum but i do have a problem.
i have a time 7321 laptop with a replacement rom(toshiba SD-2512).
However it works fine on the o/s but it wont recognise in the bios so it will not boot from cd.I have been advised that maybe a bios update will solve the problem but i cant seem to find one any help on finding one would be great...thanks in advance.

according to this: http://bongolia.org/linux/mitac7321.php

here is a bios upgrade for your laptop : http://support.ajp.co.uk/bios_html/7321.htm

although i wouldn't recommend upgrading it you might give it a try. did you already check the bios settings? maybe you should set the ide ports to auto detection.

okay, this is the original MiTAC bios:

have fun flashing it :)

Ive hit f2 on startup to enter bios and pri master is my hdd and secondary is not detected i thought i could auto detect it but it doesnt seem to have that facility so im assuming its preset to auto and cannot be changed. As far as i know this is the only option left to try i'll have a go at the flash and let you know what happens.

Cheers m8.

so you downloaded it from the AJP site.

you might try this one (different flasher).

if it still doesn't work you might better post some information about your laptop here (there are stickers on it and there is a post message which is very useful...)
