Based on the stepping numbers it looks like your new chip stepping is higher than C, so it fills the condition.

But we don't know if your motherboard supports already higher steppings?

Maybe you could find it out by measuring the voltage during operation (for both processors)?

i've tried Softfsb on my nec versapro va60h but it kept saying: "cannot find smbus address" and i can't adjust anything, what's wrong?

means that the clock generator speed is only hardware selectable.

So guys, you need go to school and learn some electronics, hehe....
