Hi,
the Plaisio BIOS that you have is relatively old and I think it does not support the Core 2 Duos.
You can still probably try to disconnect the BIOS battery ( via the small connector near the wireless card in the middle of the notebook). Then, you can reset to the default settings. It fixed a similar problem with my T2500 (only Core Duo though).
I have a newer BIOS version that supports Core 2 Duos Stepping B2 if the are designed for Socket M.
Contact me and I can send you the BIOS I have.
In addition, there are 2 more things to consider:
1) The TDP of Core 2 Duo is a little higher than Core Duo. The cooling system of the W812-Di is on the limit with my T2500 and I am not sure if it will cope with the heat dissipation of a T7200.
2) The new BIOS has one annoying bug. When I put the notebook in sleep mode, the video does not work on wake up. I have to restart the machine. Since the change, I use the hibernate mode instead of sleep. In all other respects the BIOS is working fine.
Greetings,
Dalaran
