HI,
bricked the laptop with an upgrade to the F.38 bios as suggested by our good friends at HP
This model doesn't support Crisis Recovery.
I need to re-program a BIOS chip - I've installed an IC holder on the MOBO.
I have the BIOS.BAK file, have had one guy program a new chip - didn't work.
So, any ideas what went wrong?
I suspect something to do with file size as the chip which wants a 512kb file but the BIOS.BAK is 515kb..

Has anyone burnt their BIOS.BAK file to a new IC and if so, could U tell me what U did in clear steps pls? Cheers for any help,
David

I've resorted to gettiing a new chip, (www biosman com - ask for Rob).
However, if U want to go down the path I originally did, the forum her titled IN-Depth high tech BIOS section has some really good stuff, as also does the forum on MCUMall website.
Happy to help anyone with un-soldering info if needed, esp on HPZD7000 or similar machines.
Dave
