Hello,

I have an Acer aspire E500 desktop system
http://www.acer.co.th/product/aspire/E500/index.htm

Since it is Acer, I don't have many options in the BIOS.

I have found out that the motherboard is an ECS RC410L/800-M2
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Products/P ... 93&LanID=0

Can I flash the BIOS with the BIOS from the ECS website?
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Products/P ... lName=BIOS
Would this work and would there be more BIOS settings available?

Thanks in advance for reply.

Do not flash an ECS Bios unless you are 100/ positive the motherboard revision matches and there were no hardware changes - one small change may render your system unusable. Flashing an ECS Bios voids your warranty.
If you want to have more influence on your computers settings don't buy a system like this acer or similar HP/Dell systems.

Acer BIOS has this OEM sign-on message:
This BIOS is exclusively for Acer only
As Denniss says it's so risky to flash with the retail BIOS.
More than 100,000 BIOS strings in my database just now!

Thanks guys,

But is there any other way for me to change my memory timings and FSB?

With systool I can change my FSB but it does not keep it's settings when system restarts.

Thanks.

www.podien.de
-> CPUFSB or CPUCOOL

You have to pay for this progs to be fully usable but it may work if the PLL IC are known and adressable.

Thanks for the tip, I have tried it, but my clock generator ICS951413 is not supported with that software.

Perhaps use something like WPCredit?
