Hi, I have an ASUS P5A rev. 1.04 mobo, with award bios (sorry, can't give ID yet...) v4.51 and ALI Aladin V 1541 chipset with 1543c IDE-controller.
I'm planning to upgrade the bios, because I want to install my Seagate 40GB harddisk, but the bios has the well-known 33,8GB-limit.
I was wondering about something else though. The harddisk supports UDMA 5, but the manual of the mobo says that only UDMA mode 2 is supported.
Will this cause any problems if I install the disk?
Will the mobo support higher UDMA-modes after bios upgrade?
Should I lower the UDMA-mode of the harddrive to avoid problems? (there's a tool for it if I can remember correctly)

With the newer BIOS releases, the hard disk will function at the correct mode (maximum supported by the chipset). The HDD UDMA utilities are only necessary when this doesn't happen.
