Can anybody help me with a bios upgrade for a VXpro-II.
I have worked out (thanks to to info on the site) that it was manufactured by PCchips but when I go to their site I dont see any bios numbers that I can recognise. Possible I'm not fully tunned here; I'm sure there out there because I have noticed articles about "over-clocking" VXpro+ boards and availability of bios upgrades - just not clear where to fetch it from.
Any help to clarify much appreciated.
The bios number is:
51-1213-001437-00111111-071595-UT801x-001-10-UTRON-F
Bios for VXpro-II
VXPro+ an VXPro-II are completely different chipsets. VXPro-II is very cheap (and crappy) Utron chipset. Your board is M558 or M559.
Patched and tested BIOSes are at http://wims.rainbow-software.org

I found evidence on a old page that its a PcChips M558 . I would have to agree with the above poster.

Thanks guys, I've learnt a lot over the last few days.
Having gone in more detail through the site and taken all your good advice I was pritty certail it was the M559; the pictures all matched, it had the right number of slots (2ISA 4PCI), it had onboard sound, it had to be.... Downloaded the bios and flashed onto my machine (well its the kids one actually) and for a few minutes it was looking good. Then I noticed the coms ports had all gone and the FDC was failing. Major headach! but I did by skin of teath manage to get the old one back so am now back to square one. Ah well ..... I have learnt a lot. Anybody got any ideas where I can go now, I guess there must be different varients of the M559.
and yes, I know it is a crappy board, but its the kids machine that I got for nought and I'm propably going to replace in the very near future but this has now become a challenge!

Pcchips Lottery > .. Do Know .. > M559 > Biosfile > You see two Biosfiles as M559 exists with two different I/O Chips .
This chip is either from ALI or Holtek and is located on Top of the middle PCI-Slots as seen on the picture at Pcchips Lottery .

Hello, I saw this post and need help too.....
I need help to identifiy what type of motherbord I have. All it says is 2 chipsets (VXproII). Holtek is printed on a chip and is located behind the 4 PCI slots. If any of you can offer any help PLEASE do. Thank you
Sean (BragainsUSA)
Amended Comment:
After ferther research I'm confindint that it is the M559 motherboard. Behind the 4 PCI slots it has a chip labled HOLTEX HT65521R. I need to findout the fastest CPU socket 7 it will support. In addition to finding the Manual.
Thanks again,
Sean (BragainsUSA)

Go to the Pcchips Lottery to have your board properly identified.
