OK sorry about the late reply. I used Uniflash V.1.30 and got the following information about my bios chipset: -

Flash Rom Chip: - Winbond W29x010/011/012/5V series
Organisation: - 1024 pages of 126 bytes (128k)
PCI chipset: - Intel AGPset 440BX/ZX
Rom base: - FFFE0000
Memory dump: - FFFE0000 --> (21256C2D)
Memory: - XMSPOS = 00151000
XMSLEFT = 66845696

What does this tell me?

It shows that you do in fact have a 128Kx8 BIOS chip, so only the 106B BIOS file will work.

At this point, that's all I can tell you, and you can inform TCC support (that you at least know more than they do about their product...lol) of what you have there. They will probably respond as they have been that they aren't supporting the motherboard anymore, and hopefully someone else reading this can give you more insight on your problem.

Good Luck!

**NOTE - Did anyone else find out if there are any USB issues with this chipset under Win2000, or USB1.1/2.0 issues in general under Win2000??

OK I've been told by someone else that I could try to disable ACPI in the bios to get the motherboard USB working but it needs a clean installation :o
They gave me the follwing address site at Usbman: -http://www.usbman.com/Guides/Clean%20In ... indows.htm

and here: -
http://www.usbman.com/Troubleshooter%20General.htm

Could this reason about power management be the cause?

Also (I really don't believe this) I have found out the VIA PCI cards are not very reliable: -

http://www.usbman.com/Guides/usb_2%20pci%20cards.htm
(About VIA pci cards) :x

Could this be the reason why my PCI card failed to work?

I was just going to suggest going to USBMan to see what they say over there...

Please post back here if they find a solution to your problem.

I've been struggling with a £5 (7 euro) PQI TravelFlash CF reader - the only one which won't work properly under W2K on any of the laptops around here, will read 16MB but not 64MB or 128MB. It uses Microsoft's generic USBSTOR.SYS and USBSTOR.INF. I note USBMAN says ACPI can be the fly in the ointment. I also noticed someone mentioned using another .INF got their flash reader working....
