hey there i own a MSI MS-7236 with Intel Pentium D 940 3.20GHz CPU . i updated the BIOS using the live update application that comes with the mobo cd. and it updated to version 080012 04/03/2006 also updating my ethernet drivers and some vga thing. i had to reinstall xp because of a virus infection and now it stops responding a few minutes after i log in.

does anyone know where i can get the factory default BIOS? all i know about the version is that i was from 2004

I'm afraid that I can't help you with your problem but maybe you can help me. I have the same M/B and pretty much the same memory configuration as you. The problem I have is I can get windows or the BIOS to read anymore then 2 gig. Any ideas?

For Nmx: there's a troubleshooting sticky post at motherboards.org
http://www.motherboards.org/forums/view ... hp?t=39873

that has loads of tips for a situation like this. Most likely something is overheating, it could be a driver issue or even the fact you didn't update to SP2/SP3 and activated your firewall...
