I have run into a stopping point here...I have been diligently searchung for a way to update/flash the bios. it is my daughter's computer...HP Pavilion a6333w. Last 2 BSODs said something about updating the bios. I have tried creating a bootable cd using these instructions http://www.biosflash.de/e/bios-boot-cd.htm with no luck...I dont think I have the right files because when i boot to the CD all I see is COMMAND.COM and TERRI.EXE(bios update file per HP sp.37530). When I try to open .EXE it says cannot run from DOS. I dont know how to copy it to HD. Hard disk is Western Digital 250G with WIN XP 64B. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would EVEN RATHER someone tell me over the phone(if possible) how to do this? I am desparate and exhausted...have been at it for almost a week! Thanks! :?

Do never ever try to upgrade a Bios on an instable system as a crash during flashing kills your Bios. Please try to identify the causes for instability - check cooling, voltages and use memtest to identify RAM issues.
Virus infections may also cause instabilities.

check for bad swollen capacitors. more info on this website:

http://www.badcaps.net

This board is made using inferior-brand (G-LUXON) capacitors from China (to cut costs) and many times these will simply fail, swelling up and losing their function to stabilize the power in your system.
