Hi everyone and thanks for your help in advance. For the past few weeks I've been looking for a BIOS update for my pc and have failed in every attempt. I'm trying to upgrade my memory, so I purchased a memory stick from this website called www.4allmemory.com. According to their scan, they recommend a 512MB DDR-266 (PC2100).
I have a P4-1.8Ghz, 256 MB of RAM, and NvidiaCorp GeForce2 MX/MX 400.
As for the motherboard, I have an Amptron Motherboard, which according to the box (yes, i still have the box) it reads:

P4-920LMSD (423)
Form Factor: ATX
Chipset: VT8753 & VT8233
DIMM/DRR: 2/2
ISA/PCI/AGP/CNR: 0/4/1/1 (not sure what this is)

Using a small program, I get the following bios/motherboard info:

Motherboard OEM: Hsing Tech Enterprise Co., Ltd (PC Chips)
BIOS version: AMIBIOS 07.00.10
BIOS date: 9/22/01
BIOS ID: 62-0922-00101111-040201-VIA_P6

Board Model: ECS M920, Socket 423.

The reason I'm trying to update my BIOS is because after trying to install it the memory, I got the typicall errors of the motherboard not recognizing it. I already visited the ECS website, www.ecsusa.com and they only have updates for newer versions. I'd appreciate if anyone can lead me to the update file. Many thanks and thanks for considering my post.

Bios-Id may indicate it's a M922 - maybe you want to search www.pcchips.com.tw .

Your problem looks more like damaged memory - DDR-266/PC-2100 is wrong anyway today. Everyone needing DDR1 should get at least PC-3200/DDR-400 as it's fully backwards compatible and often cheaper than those old modules.
