Hi, my six yr old PB pc still has its factory installed BIOS. I'd like to update it as much as possible, although the BCM website says it no longer supports the FM530 motherboard. Packard Bell also refers to this motherboard as the PB 810.
Current BIOS ID reads: 10/15/97 1430VX-SMC37C93-2A59GB3JC-00
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS/G400 R1.11
Thanks for the help!
Need latest BIOS update for BCM fm530 motherboard
AFAIK, the latest one is:
04/28/98-i430VX-SMC37C93-2A59GB3JC-00
PACKARD BELL BIOS version v1.25I
Does NOT support HDDs over 8,4GB.

Thanks. Next question, how important is it that my updated BIOS be made by the same manufacturer as the motherboard? I believe my motherboard is non-industry standard (I may not be able to find a replacement motherboard that fits exactly as the old one). If I'm stuck with an old motherboard, does this limit the BIOS?
I'm a newbie at this, so please bear with me.
Thanks again!

You do not want to flash another manufacturers bios on that board, it will most likely kill it.
As for non-standard design: means include case/power supply when upgrading the board...

Does anyone know where I can go to download the 4/28/98 BIOS upgrade listed above?
Also, is there anywhere I can go to find info about my 10/15/97 BIOS? I'd like to find the maximum hard drive size this BIOS supports.
Thanks.

Did you mean C400? That's Micronics PII board.
