Sure about the "J-bond PCI600E" being your motherboard? According to your BIOS ID, you have an Achitec ACHI160.

hey dude
well...as i said, i have informations from Aida32 and from esupport.com's Bios Agent.

I taught i have an Achitec....or Asaki...or Jbond.
I don't know...i just need the bios upgrade,urgently

i received an e-mail from esupport, the bios chip costs U$$24.95...i don't have that money, if you convert it to brazilian money, you will see how expensive is it...totally impossible.

But well...if you know somewhere i can download the bios upgrade, tell me please.

And repeating...i posted information from two programs. One is Aida32 , the other is the Bios Agent..

i don't know in what one i should trust , lol..

well...hope you , or anyone can help. Thanks in advance

I believe it's an ACHI-160 then.

All I could find is a BIOS which is only a couple of months more recent, according to its uploader:
http://www.bios-drivers.com/drivers/18/18728.htm

I wouldn't flash it, because the BIOS file seems corrupt. It's just proof that there indeed was a more recent release.

You haven't mentioned what kind of support you're looking for though.

If you're looking for large HDD support, it would be safer and wiser to send us a backup of your current BIOS.

Hello dude.

Look. My hdd works at UDMA-2...it max supports its UDMA-5
i want support for more APM
more compatibility with win2k/xp
just it

and...you mentioned, there would be a more recent release ? WHere could i find it dude ?

Yeah...the link you sent me,looks to be exactly my board...
But how'd u know .bin seems to be corrupt ? i have awdflash here...but how may i know if this .bin is corrupt ? I will download, and just keep it on my hdd...it will be the 3rd bios i download lol =)

BUt oh well...thanks for everything dude. You're helping me a lot.
I will follow your recommendations...i am not going to flash it...
but...i have a backup of my bios , a program called "detect" made it.
If you want, i can send it ...just tell me ur mail address
If you got any bios that isn't corrupted , and is more recent than mine, tell me...maybe i have to flash my bios for one a little bit recent than the original, and flash again to the newest...

Thanks in advance
Pablo

Well.
I forgot to mention, that i already have a large hdd support, with Ontrack

I used Seagate Disc Wizard , and made an DDO(Dynamic Drive Overlay)
After that,no problems...with the exception that i can't use UDMA5 =(

and...my motherboard doesn't support (i don't know its name) the fatest IDE cable for hdds...it doesn't connect on it.

Can i remove one item from an ide to see if the cable connects ? thanks

Well, your chipset does not support UDMA modes above 2.

Better APM support requires BIOS core adjustments (BIOS update)

More compatibility with 2K/XP also.

All that can be done with your current BIOS is patch it to natively support large HDDs upto 128GB, so you wouldn't depend on Ontrack/DDO any longer.

hello dude.
well...as its a chipset issue the UDMA feature, i will have to no longer try it...
but...my bios doesn't support anything larger than 33GB. Is what it max supports...i rememer , someday i don't remember how i put 38GB on it,but...i do not remember what i have done, i manually entered somethings...well,forget it =)

but...as i can see,my topic will finish now...
I can see too that the search for a bios update , will improve somethings, but what i really need is a NEW PC =P

its true...its hard to use a PII MMX 500Mhz...
thats why i am tryng to update my bios...to improve performance inside what i have without spend any money, because i don't have money to spend,heh..

oh well...thats it. Thanks in advance for everything dude...
Pablo =)
