hello,
need an bios update. can´t find manufacture of board.
is there anybody who knows this board?
features:
onbord scsi controller
thanks
60GB: 11/21/96-i430VX-2A59GF5cc-00
Looks like a PC Chips board - but I don't know any with onboard SCSI. However I found this beta BIOS:
08/26/97-i430VX-2A59GF5CC-00
(2a59gf5c) EVALUATION ROM - NOT FOR SALE
But there's no SCSI BIOS inside. Can you save your BIOS to a file and send it to my e-mail?

One of the Fugutech server boards, found in extremely low-end servers. Probably made by PC Chips, no support to be found anywhere. I still wonder who bought these boards...

Heh... being a "brand" chip, must be one of their high-end servers

yeah, so it doesn't crash after 6 months but after three years. Being a server you need to give more warranty.
gmc: ajzchips and I are having a bit of fun on this one. Please provide us with a picture and a backup of the bios.
use awdflash 6.x like this:
awdflash /Pn /Sy backup.bin and send the backup.bin file to one of the moderators. That way e can try and find out if it can be patched to support 60GB.

Edwin: gmc already sent me the BIOS backup. The BETA BIOS seems to be patchable but does not include SCSI BIOS. I will do the patch + SCSI BIOS in the evening.

Found why the BETA BIOS does not inlcude SCSI BIOS - because it won't fit

No. The BETA seems to be patchable. I found smaller AIC-7880 BIOS in Shuttle HOT-559 BIOS but it still won't fit. The BETA BIOS includes HDD Low Level Format utility - I'll see if I can remove it to save some space. Maybe gmc should first try the patched BIOS without the SCSI BIOS if FDISK can see HDD over 8.4GB. If yes, then I will try to fit it somehow into 128KB.
