Can anyone help me identifying the manufacturer and typenumber of this motherboard? I think it is a FIC motherboard. But I can not find the typenumber. I want to upgrade the bios to solve some problems. The PC is a HP 740.nl Thanks in advance!

Checking HP website for HP740.nl here says the latest BIOS they have is VC35_302 - suggesting possibly FIC VC35 mobo. FIC lists version 1.1 and version 1.2 PCBs, so check what you have.

Thanks for your reply. How can I find out which version PCB I have? I did use the HP update some time ago. And if I use one of the updates on that page must I take the last one? I am new to this so I have not much experience in this.

You will have to look for "v1.1" or "v1.2" or similar usually in white lettering on the PCB. Once you have done that, use the BIOS for your board which has the latest date. Check the FAQ at the main Wim's BIOS site for more information on flashing. Good luck!

Be careful, I just saw a big difference between the HP version of a FIC bios and the original FIC bios. Namely the HP version for the AM35 board is a 4Mbit one, the FIC version is only 2Mit. Although an other board, this same rule could apply for yours...

You are doing this on your own risk, you loose warranty from both HP and FIC...
