Please post your full Bios-ID and not only parts of it !!
What's displayed just below the Award Logo in the upper left screen corner ? > ALC xxxxxx or ALAxxxxxx

Possible boards are Biostar M5ALA or M5ALC
05/09/2000 might be newer than official Bios releases

Hi Dennis, here are some more deails:

Right under the Award-logo there is:

Award Modular Bios v.5.51PG An energy star Ally
Copyright (C) 1984-99
Award Software, Inc.

Then there is this line: ALC0509

And under that line there is:

Award Plug and Play
Bios Extension v.1.0A
Copyright (C) 1999,
Award Software, Inc.

That's all there is.

Hope you can help me.

Thanx.

Please mail me a copy of your Bios and I'll check it and patch it
If you don't know how to backup your Bios use Uniflash from a clean DOS Bootdisk or use awdflash buggy.bin backup.bin /pn /sy and send me the backup.bin file in ZIPped format > this awdflash command will not flash a bios but will backup your current bios but you can use Uniflash to backup too

We have already patched a file for the Biostar M5ALC with 256KByte size but it's date is 1/2000 - latest official Biostar Bios marked with "B" behind the version numbers as Biostar Bios - yours maybe has an "A" as OEM-Bios

BTW where did you get this biosfile from ?

Received the file - OEM-Bios used in Fujitsu-Siemens computers with Biostar M5ALC mainboard

There are problems to patch the Bios - I'll report this problems to Rainbow - maybe he is able to "fix" your Bios

Bios is newer (12/2000) but same error message with the patching utility so I can't say it support HDD higher than 32GB

Denniss: What error? Send me either PM or e-mail to non-wimsbios address (still does not work after the crash).
