Hi,

I am new here.

I just got a Asus P/I55TVP4 board, everything seems to work fine,
except that the on-board floppy connecter is dead. Is this because
of BIOS upgrage failure ? If I reprogram or replace the BIOS chip,
can I salvage it ?

Thanks

Make sure that you have correct BIOS flashed there (a BIOS that is really for that board). If it's OK, try clearing CMOS. If it does not help, disable the onboard controller and plug in ISA multi I/O card (properly configured, of course).
