Hello Bios-Gurus,

I just bought a new Harddisk (Samsung SpinPoint SV 1204H, 120 GB) for my Computer, which is equipped with a DFI P5BV3+ (REV. C) Mainboard.

As expected, the BIOS (Award Bios, ID-String: "11/30/2000-VP3-586B-CD-2A5LED4DC-00") crashes ':(' during IDE Auto detection in BIOS Setup and when showing the post summary with the drive capacities.

I planned to buy a new PCI IDE Interface, but then I found this great site. I looked on your download page and found a patched bios for my mainboard. Unfortunatly this file is for the REV. B version of the mainboard, but I need the patched REV. C bios.

Actually I use the latest DFI Beta Bios for the Mainboard, which can be downloaded here: http://www.dfi.com.tw/Upload/BIOS/BP5BC1130.ZIP

Perhaps someone of you Gurus can help me and other REV. C users with this bios problem.

Thank you very much in advance,

Hallo Rainbow,

thank you very much for your fast answer. The patched bios works very well. It detects the new Samsung 120 Gb 1204H and the old 15 Gb IBM Harddisk without any problems.

Also the combination with a bootmanager (Bootstar, Star Tools GmbH) works well. 10 Partitions spread over the two harddisks were no problem. Win 98 II and 2000 are still working without problems.

I think you can publish this patch for the DFI P5BV3+ (REV. C) on your homepage.

Again, thank you very much for your help!

Best regards,
