I have been havng problems with my Gigabyte 6BXE m/board. I had bad flash burn me a new Award 4.5 BIOS rom. When I go into CMOS the standard CMOS settngs page freezes and doesn't detect the IDE drives. The page shows base ram at 64k but extended ram is blank. POST correctly reports ram nad CPU. HaveI screwed up my cmos settngs causing the IDE channels to not auto detect?

Did you keep your old ROM ? Does that still work ?
Did you clear CMOS after inserting the new BIOS ? as sometimes the locations where parameters are stored change between versions, causing confusion, lockup and/or failure to boot.
Tested patched BIOSes. Untested patched BIOSes.
