Award Modular Bios Version V1PG #401A0-0203
Bios Number 05/03/97-82430HXP155T2P4C-C0
Asus motherboard P/I P55TP4
Pentium MMX

Is there a newer flash bios available...could not find in on the Asus site.

Have a Asus P/I-P55TP4 with a Award Bios V4.51pg.
When installing a new Fujitsu 10GB drive the drive is
recognized by the bios as a master, bios completes its cycle
but hangs prior opening of Windows. Have bios set to boot
from A,C and set for LBA.

Putting the old Fujitsu 2GB drive back as the master on the primary
port …the bios recognizes the drive as a slave. The settings
are correct on the drive as a master. The computer boots up, opens Windowsand recognizes the large drive with all the Windows programs.
This would eliminate the LBA issue.
Windows also shows and additional phantom drive letter…other than
the 2GB and 10GB drives.

When setting the Fujitsu 2GB as the master and the 10GB drive
as a slave on the primary port the bios will not recognize the 10GB
drive and still shows the 2GB drive set up as a slave.

Could the bios be corrupt or would it be a motherboard problem.?

Trying to give the old computer to an underpriviledge child and want
to use the old CPU and all the peripherals.

Any help.
