My old PC has a complete breakdown. Now I'm searching a place to download a BIOS update. The manufacturer JBond doesn't exist anymore, obviously. Now I found Wimsbios.com and I even found my motherboard PCI500C-H3 in the list of the manufacturers.

But how to download?

Could anybody please help me? Or do you know an alternative place where to get this BIOS-file?

Thanks a lot in advance

Hi,

thank you for your answer. I do not have the code number which is shown during the booting process of the PC. But I've two different numbers: One is printed on the current BIOS chip, the other one is from the elder one which had to be replaced some years ago.

Current one:
ATMEL AT29C010A 90 PI 9934

Old one:
WINBOND W29EE011-15
644QDH2610249992UE

Thanks in advance.

OK, that doesn't help a lot. Are you 100 percent sure it's PCI500C-H3 ? If so, the latest BIOS I found is archived at http://web.archive.org/web/199902240934 ... glish.html but that is only 1997.

PCI500C-H Plug and Play Rev:1.60

However, it seems to be patchable with Rainbow's utility. Is your issue "My hard disk isn't recognised" or "My motherboard is dead" ?

Hi,

thanks a lot for the link. IT WORKS!!!

My old PC is running again. B.t.w. it's really a PCI500C-H3. Quite old but still alive (again).

Thanks once more.

Hi,

thanks for the offer. My PC's HDD is 20 GB. And it's working. I guess then I don't need support, do I?
