Is there anything specific about the Compaq OEM aspect ? Does the BIOS ID still look like Chaintech ?
[edit]Previous post, Rainbow got no reply on the forum, but it highlights the problem; 1Mbit (Compaq) vs 2 Mbit (Chaintech)

Chaintech have only two 2 Mbit BIOSes, Version 1:
07/08/1999-i440BX-ITE867-2A69KC39C-00
07/08/1999
and version 2;
12/17/1999-i440BX-ITE867-2A69KC39C-00
12/17/1999

We need a backup from that Compaq bios as I doubt the .bin file will be readily available in the Compaq upgrade flash disk. Although it would help if you can retrieve the system series and model number.

Hello All,

after I recived a non-corrupt biosfile I used appelrom's tool to patch the "Compaq" bios. Now the Bios detect the HDD and the guy is happy.

Thanks all for help.
