A search for 6131 at http://www.msi-computer.de turns up MS-6204 as an alternate name; two versions;
V1.0:
http://www.msi-computer.de/produkte/pro ... rod_id=130
10/20/1998-i440BX-W977-2A69KM4DC-00
W6131MJ V1.6 051799

and V2.0:
http://www.msi-computer.de/produkte/pro ... rod_id=131
10/20/1998-i440BX-W977-2A69KM4DC-00
W6131MJ V2.5 010400

Both of these are older than yours.

The "P2" in the message indicates that it's an OEM version of the board, don't know whose without checking. Do you have some markings on your board to indicate revision ?

(Before you do anything else, use "awdflash savebios.bin /sy /pn" to back up your present BIOS !)

It's an OEM from NEC, powermate 5200 ms-6131 ver 3.
Got a copy (finally) of the old nec bios. I tried the 2 upgrades available from MSI, no luck
I did save the old bios ( oh did I mention that this is a great site?)
and so far no luck on changing getting over the 32 gb barrier.
( I hate using special patches to compensate, like the one from samsung)
If anyone would like the old .bin file, I'll send it to you

Send it to me at my email address (zip for file integrity, please), or link to it. I'll look at patching it.

Hmmm . NEC has only a 2.3 Bios for a Powermate 3200 but a 3.2 and 3.8 Bios for 5250
ftp://ftp.necsam.com/pub/Catalog/3788/P ... os-3.2.exe
ftp://ftp.necsam.com/pub/Catalog/3822/P ... %203.8.exe

It seems the 5200 should have used a 6131 Rev 2.x and 5250 a 6131 Rev 3.x . the 3,8 Bios is dated 5/2000 and the 3.2 8/99 - about 14 days older than your 3.2 .....

And MSI only has an older 3.1 bios either for RageXL or Rage128VR OnBoard VGA
