my current HD is only 17GB and i want to buy an extra 40GB.

can i simply replace the old one ? Because the older one has in-built windows ME but i use XP now ?

Would this cause any problems ?

questions-
Is this an OEM system? If so please post the complete model/series info.

How do you know the 40GB drive will hook up without trouble? (i.e hard drive barrier, etc.)?
