I want to upgrade my bios but they ask for an sevrvice tage I dont know what kinda dell it is its been put into a new cace but I do have the bios id number wut part if any could tell me what the service tag number is
bios id #..51-2300-000000-00101111-030199--EA815
dell service tag?
If you have only a motherboard I suspect the service tag would not be much use.
A Google search brings up references:
Motherboard ID:: 51-2300-000000-00101111-030199-$EA815
Motherboard Name:: Intel Easton D815EEA / Easton 2 D815E(P)EA2 / Fayetteville D185E(p)FV

This may be a useful page - it has the BIOS download link and release note.

If this board came out of a Dell system, you should be able to go into BIOS Setup where you will be able to find the service tag number. Also, I'm not so sure the Intel BIOS will work on the Dell board. If you flashed it and the board is functioning, let us know. Otherwise, I would do a little more research to ID the board and download the correct BIOS upgrade from the Dell site.
I downloaded and flashed the BIOS but it doesn't seem any diff.
The reasion I wanted to upgrade my BIOS iz because I hoped it would let me overclock....so eather the BIOS I had was the newest I could have or eather there was no options for overclocking.....
