Alex.
I have two of these boards. I did start looking for a compatible BIOS but there are not many boards out there with 5511/5513 chipset. Chaintech 5SBA and Soyo SY-5SM BIOSes do not have extended Int 13h support; I have not checked out Asus P55SP4, Asus P55SP3AV or Mynix/TMC PCI54ST but I would be surprised if they do.
Tested patched BIOSes. Untested patched BIOSes.

NickS, I have the following betas whose dates (mid-1997 and above) "might" have INT13H support:
1) 09/12/97-SiS-551X-SMC665-2A5IDB09C-00 (patched OK)
2) 09/15/97-SiS551X-UMC8669-2A5IDB0BC-00 (patched OK)
3) 06/24/97-SiS-5511-5513-2A5IDC4AC-00 (patched OK)

5) 07/16/1998-SiS-5511-5513-2A5IDF2DC-00 (patched OK)

C) 02/24/98-SiS-5511-5513-2A5IDS2BC-00 (patched OK)
Any of these can be discarded? Which ones should I check?
EDIT: checked with Rainbow's utility anyway.... impatience of mine....

From what I can tell the board concerned appears to be a Socket 7 model - is this correct?
I tried to trace it down myself but once you get to Abit's website, it appears they have dropped off support for Socket 7 boards.
Two things to suggest:
Firstly, the following was the code posted: 2A5IDA1EC-E0. When I looked for this code at the Abit page under the BIOS numbers pages I could not match it exactly, however the closest match gives the PH5 which has been also listed in the topic header. Do we know this to be correct or is this mismatch a possible consideration of model identification?
The other thing is I would recommend that Nicolae sends a email to Abit support kindly requesting that they email through the latest BIOS they have on this board, if they do have any at all. Keep the request nice and short and simple and clear and direct - don't ask any further questions because if the email appears confusing the reciever might quickly lose interest. There may be a reasonable chance of the desired attachment in reply, and if this is indeed the correct BIOS and if it supports at least 32GB HDD, then it may be patchable further up to 128GB if Nicolae herself or anyone else requires it.
Hope this helps you Nicolae and Good Luck!!!

Uhhh..... Looking at your original post, two other observations:
* Where did the BIOS Search Squad Genuis find the update on Abit's website? I certainly could not find it!
* There isn't by any chance an 8GB limiting jumper on the 20GB drive you are trying to install?
