Anyone had any success at all with this?
I had Award Bios 4.51PG, bought Flash BIOS v6 from Award, which seems to flash ok, but then after pressing F1 at end of flash process to restart, I get absolutely no video at all- monitor light turns amber and I have NO idea what has happened. Have left PC alone for over 30 mins, with no resumption. Fan whirring away but doing nowt. Pressing reset then prompts CMOS checksum error.

There is no OS- prior to flashing BIOS I removed old HD, installed new 40gb HD which was detected Ok, but the old BIOS version will not recognise new size >17gb when I try reinstalling ANY version of Windows(hence purchase of new flash).

Is this an AGP issue/conflict? Can anyone help please? I have replaced CMOS battery, re-jumpered, re-flashed, all to no avail.

What's your mobo? What BIOS release date did you have before?

Mobo- not sure of make (no indication on MOBO of manufacturer). (any ideas...?)

Bios Info as follows (suing Checkit-PE)

BIOS
================================================================================
BIOS Date : 04/23/1990
BIOS Vendor : Award International
BIOS Identificator : 05/29/2001-693-686A-2A6LGD4NC-00
BIOS Copyright : Copyright (C) 1984-2001, Award Software, Inc.
BIOS Sign On : Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG

Oddly, it detects the new BIOS version:

Platform : IBM PC/AT or compatible
CPU : Intel Pentium III Processor, 600 MHz
BIOS : Award Software International, Inc., 6.00 PG
Memory : 191 MB
Video : 86C362 Trio3D/2x, 86C368 Trio3D/2x+, 4 MB
I/O Buses : ISA, PCI, IDE, USB
Floppy : 1.44MB, 3.5" Drive A
HDD(s) : ST340016A, 38.17 Gb, s/n 3HS0WA8N
CD-ROM(s) : SAMSUNG CD-ROM SC-148F, x48
Serial : COM1, COM2
Parallel : LPT1
Network : DFE-530TX Fast Ethernet Adapter with WOL (Rev B)
Sound : Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128

I am mystified. Might just send the PC to Morphy Richards to use as toaster parts instead. Angry that I have bought this upgrade on good faith, sent two emails to Award, had two autonotifications and NO response in over a month and a half, despite their assurance that I would be contacted within two days...

Motherboard ID is:

CA-63SN: Rev A1

Is this a well known issue with Award and AGP cards...? My only other thought is whether I need to find a BIOS flash for my Trio card... or whether I accept I have paid £25 to Award and got nothing for it, and buy a new MOBO and re-build the PC.
