I installed 2 x 128MB of pc133 SDRAM on my motherboard yesterday but they were only recognized as 64MB modules, though that is not the problem, this is :

After I removed the 2 RAM modules, the computer is now failing at the following point:-

Updating ESCD ... Success
Building DMI Pool .

after that I get a purple line at the top of the screen and different coloured blocks over the screen.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Motherboard is a PCPartner AP133AS13-C957 with Via Apollo Pro 133 chipset with Slot 1 AND Socket 370.

Yes, I have tried that.

I have also tried removing the battery and power lead.

Using the the jumper to reset the bios.

Emailed the manufacturer of the motherboard for help. (Their suggestion similar to yours Rainbow)

Unfortunately it still has the same error and I think the BIOS/CMOS is no longer any good.

Thanks for your help Rainbow
