Hi,
The full capacity of my new 160GB EIDE drive is not recognized by System BIOS(The detected sizes is 136GB).
I want to update BIOS so that overcome the Bios limitation - hard drive over 137GB.
Please help me update my BIOS. I think a new ver. BIOS is always better than some overlay software.
Also, I want to know what is my motherboard.
Thank you for your kind attention.

What about a PCI card controller? It's cheeper, faster and works great.kof8889 wrote:I want to update BIOS so that overcome the Bios limitation - hard drive over 137GB.

It's a PcPartner board, 815EBAS3 or 815EPBAS3 series.kof8889 wrote:Also, I want to know what is my motherboard.
Latest BIOS update can be found here, but I don't think they have large HDD support:

Diagnostic software, like Everest, Sandra and others give us very funny answers.kof8889 wrote:Mainboard : Winsonic
Maybe there are more than 40 vendors selling relabeled PcPartner motherboards and yours can be an original PcPartner or Aska, EQS, J&W, Paradise, Supergrace, Uniark, etc...
More than 100,000 BIOS strings in my database just now!

Thank you for your rely.
However, I still have some question about my computer.
Is 2001year BIOS not support a large HD (137GB)?
Is it possible update (patch) BIOS or use other BIOS to make my system support the large HD ?
Since the motherboard company Winsonic was close. I can’t find any support now.
I open the computer case and find my motherboard is look like PcPartner 815EPBAS3-T217CA motherboard. Do you ensure my motherboard is the OEM product of PcPartner ? Is it safe for upgrade my system BIOS with PcPartner BIOS ?
I try to use WD overlay software overcome the 137GB HD limitations. However, WD overlay software (DDO) have conflict with some partition tools, diskedit tools, diskscan tools….
I think that I should take your advice install a PCI card controller on my computer.
Thank you for your help !
