I just purchesed a Seagate Barracuda 80GB st380011a. I'm trying to copy (clone) my old 30GB HD onto it. The programs I use shut off or freeze when I try to start the process. This is the first time I'v edone this so I was suprised to learn that my BIOS doesn't go above 30GB. Any help on the subject of flashing would be appreciated.

I"m still having some trouble
I downloaded the file and expanded it to a floppy (my BIOS disc)
Then I rebooted with the win98 boot disc
In dos I put in the BIOS disc
typed dir at the A: prompt
The instructions I got was to type in the name of the exe file and then the .bin file.
THere was no .exe file so I just typed in the .bin file and /f
It said bad command
Oh, sorry.
Try to download it again, I have uploaded a new zip file with the flash program and instructions included.

Please use a CLEAN Dos Bootdisk !!!
-> The Win98 Bootdisk loads too much stuff in the background, a little dangerous to update in this environment.
Get the DR-DOS Bootdisk creator from www.bootdisk.com (Driver Free Disk For Bios Flashing)

Files only and no installer, the DR-DOS bootdisk is ways better because it verifies the Floppy is error-free.KURIAKI wrote:Or here:
