So... that means that there is no more chance for me? :roll: last question from me: did You also search the content of files? (because like i said the name of file and starting content sometime differ...)

For me CHAINTECH made 9VID (as well as many other MOBOS) and forgot about it. It's sad but this company tends to ****** on clients. I wrote to them many e-mails to addresses:

support @ chaintech.de;
support @ chaintech.thizlinux.com;
support @ chaintech-france.com;
infos @ chaintech-france.com;
support @ chaintech.com.tw;
support @ chaintech.co.uk;
support @ chaintech.ru;
mail @ ccmgate.chaintech.com.tw;
fae @ chaintech.com.tw;
elt @ chaintech.nl;
support @ chaintech.nl;

and i got back one reply after 3 days from address support @ chaintech-france.com. I asked for BIOS of ES-675B (i thought it was my mainboard) they replied that it can be found on their website https://web.archive.org/web/20081218010 ... ch.com.tw/. On this website there is no ES-675B even mentioned.

Anyway there is one good point of my battle. I know the model of my mainboard and when once selling it I can say it isn't unknown :wink:

Thanks KURIAKI and edwin!

Hello WIMSBIOS' crew again!

I got 9VID BIOS from france chaintech support (france support got this from taiwan). Do You want this file?

TOM

Today i will try to update my mainboard with this BIOS. As i said when editing *.bin file i found "9vid.bin" string. If update will be succesfull it means i have very VERY VERY rare mainboard CHAINTECH 9VID.

edwin,

what you mean "illusive 9VID"?

I got the file dated 04/02/2002 from support @ chaintec-france.com few hours later support @ chaintec-france.com sent me the file 9vid0402.bin with message "...9VID BIOS from Taiwan..." then i got an idea to search any chaintech's f-t-p. There is one ftp:/ /ftp.chaintech.com.tw running as anonymous i suppose, but i can't login anonymously into it - is it DOWN? It says the pass for anonymous account is bad - i put any e-mail address there... Can You try to get into it? Then i started to search through ftp search engines and search string "chaintech" and I have found some (mostly in russian domain) ftps but no 9VID bios.

My own BIOS is 9vid0502.bin and it is more than one month newer (28-05-2002) than the one sent from Taiwan - looks like they have real mess in their archives.

One more thing edwin,

ES-675B --== IS NOT ==-- 9VID as soon as i remember, it is 9VJD (i downloaded KURIAKI'S bios for ES-675B edited it and found string 9VJD)

To find newer BIOS please try to get into ftp:/ /ftp.chaintech.com.tw and if You success maybe there is something interesting for You and me. Chaintech has also site with files for old mainboards http:/ /www.chaintech.com.tw:8008/Downloads/index.htm - but i have blocked all high ports in my company so i can't check it.

Please let me know after You try...

UPDATE: 09:52 - chaintech france sent me e-mail with info that bios dated on 02-04-2002 is the only they can provide... strange because my own bios is dated on 28-05-2002...

Regards,
Tom

the old chaintech download page is kaputt at the moment. Not the first time...

I'm trying to reach their ftp... but anonymous access has been disabled.

Well, if MediaMarkt hasn't got one, and Chaintech can't help you, the only option is a commercial upgrade from esupport.com

About $60...
