Hi all I flashed a newer bios on my Biostar M6TBA ver 1.4 to be able to use up to 128 Gb HD...
I used uniflash last version and my bios chip was MX J993233 Chiptype: DIP 32 Pins...
It was...
I flashed it bad and I cannot boot now...
Ok...I have the chance to buy a new bios on ebay but I have also a multi IO isa card that run on my PC...
I tried it and I can see my floppy led or always on or always off depending on how I link the connector on ISA card...
My question ...is there a chance to recover and flash a good bios on my chip using the isa card...
If yes...how?
What is a detailed procedure? I must change some jumper?
Thanx
Giacomo

I have version 1.5 of this same board and had the exact same problem. I solved it yesterday (I am currently replying on this computer....)
First you need a boot disk without config.sys.
I used a little program (google search) called drdflash.exe
It makes a boot floppy with the basics for flashing. (command.com, ibmbio.com, ibmdos.com)
Now add your copy of uniflash
Now you need a bios image, use tba1124b.bin it is for version 1.3 on up.
You can find it by a google search or at the Biostar website in the archives. This is the most updated BIOS supported by the company.
Add this image to the floppy.
Now make a autoexec.bat file with ONLY this line...
@UNIFLASH.EXE -E TBA1124.BIN -REBOOT
save the file.
The -E setting is important as it allows uniflash to flash without any user input.
On you computer you must unplugg all drives or cdroms etc EXCEPT for floppy drive. When this BIOS is corrupt it will want to boot from the floppy.
Insert the floppy and turn on your computer. AFter the POST beeps you will hear the floppy being accessed. There may be some more beeps and your computer should reboot after a few minutes.
After a few more minutes if nothing is happening....take out the disk and power off then back on the computer. You should now see the boot screen as it tries to search your ide devices. You may get an on screen error of bad checksum, this is okay. Just enter your BIOS by hitting DEL while it is booting, and find the option of loading default values.
If you've made it this far, you should be able to power down, reattach all disks and drives and set your BIOS to whatever tweaks you need.

Hi
Hope someone can answer my question
I have read just the steps how to fix the bios. But did you use the I/O card?
It seems you only used the diskette (only driver connected (to motherboard? or to the isa card, which is connected to the motherboard?) , all the other driverss have to be disconnected.
Please help me, I want to try it out, Can I make an backup of my existing biosimage (pc is runnig fine)? I just want to try the isa I/O card.
I have an EIDE Combi controller and Multie I/O Card, ISA
How can it that the bios can be updated using the card? Then it should work without it too(using just the floppydisk connected to the motherboard)???
please helpe?

Use the onboard floppy drive.
for saving the bios version on a functioning system you don't need to detach everything, just make sure you boot from a floppy so you can start the flash utility in save modus.

Which save modus you mean? I only know that the save modus in windows.
My goals in this to test the I/O card I have bought recently.
So I want to backup my bios of my old pc, then I want to damage the bios (by upgrading the wrong one).
So I also need to now if the I/O card has to be used, that what I have found when I searched this website.
But in this subject it seems the computer is working? I thaught it has a problem to starting because of wrong bios.

please check the frequently asked questions section of the website first.
if you want to test the ISA I/O card you need a motherboard with no onboard devices like IDE or floppy controller. Do you have such a motherboard?
