Hi,

My girlfriend's sister put the wrong BIOS download onto their computer and now we get this error when booting up:

Award Bootlock BIOS v1.0
Copyright (c)2000,Award Software, Inc.

BIOS ROM checksum error

Detecting floppy drive A media...
INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

I need help creating a system disk and then probably help from there. :(

What do I put on the floppy disk to make it a "system disk"? Please help, I'm completely lost and my girlfriend's mom needs her computer back as soon as possible. :(

Thank you in advance,
Jesse

Get drdflash.exe (bootdisk creator, search with google or others for links) to create a bootdisk on a working computer.
Then you need the Bios file and a flashprog, both should be supplied from Aopen.

Hi again,

I tried doing your exact directions and it didn't work.

I got the message:

"Invalid system disk, insert disk and hit enter"

or something of the like. Any ideas? :(

Doubleclicked on drdflash.exe to create this bootdisk ? Does this Botdisk work in your other computer ?

It may also be posible the Bios is further damaged or it's not able to adress your Floppy controller because of different I/O chip the other Bios was designed for.

Ohhhh, I have to double click on drdflash.exe while it's on my working desktop to create the floppy as a boot disk? I'll try that.

Thank you SO much for the help, Denniss. The computer is working as well as it was before, now. Thanks again, mate. :)
