I just installed a 250 Seagate hardrive. I started out fresh and installed Windows XP. And from time to time, I get the blue screen of death. I'm thinking that it might be time to update the bios. I'm not sure where to start to find an update for my motherboard. Is there anyone willing to help me out? I'm just scared to download the wrong thing and my computer won't start.

Here's My Bios Information:

BIOS TYPE:Phoenix-Award BIOS v6.00PG
BIOS DATE:04/26/02
BIOS ID:04/26/2002-i845GL-LPC47M-6A69VF0IC-00
OEM Sign-On: Version IEK41
Super I/O: Unknown
Chipset: Intel 2560 rev 1
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Version: 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2

Computer Specs:
E-Machine: T1740, Updated the Processor to 2.0GHz
Ram: 1 Gig (2 512 Sticks)
Main Harddrive: 250 Seagate (3 Partitions)
Video Card: All In One Wonder 64MB (PCI)

let me know if I need to post any more information.

I just bought a new power supply right before I did the reformat. That's what I thought at first, but didn't solve my problem =(

make sure you get the right bios version for your PCB revision, there's 4 different PCB revisions.

Thanks. I really appreciate it. How would I find the PCB number?

I see a stick with PhoenixBios Stick. But nothing about the PCB. Would it be a sticker on the the motherboard? I can take some pictures of the motherboard if that would help.

Look a little closer on the motherboard, FIC retail and OEM boards ahould have the PCB/Revision number either printed betwenn the PCI slots just behind the model number or as a small print somewhere in the corner near the last expansion slot.
