Hello,

I've pc (AMD sempron 2200+) with a Amibios.
I had a ide HD of 80 giga. (OK no problem)
Now I replace it with a new one (300giga) and when I try to install XP, I can only seen 128 giga.

What is going on?
Bios problem?

Actual :
biosversion = 62-0100-001131-00101111-080404-SIS741-M863G-Y2KC
Release = 08/04/04

the bios only supports LBA28 and its limit is 128GB. but there is no problem at all if you use Linux or Windows XP SP2/2K SP4. just make sure to keep the boot partition within the bios recognized area.

It looks more like the XP install CD is without Servicepack thus XP setup is only able to see 128GiB. After installing at least SP1 (SP2 recommended) the full capacity should be accessible.
